First of all, let it be known that BT are fucking weasel-felching monkey rapists, and I hope everyone connected with them dies a painful and fiery death, possibly involving lava, severed limbs, and Hayden Christensen's inability to act.

I wonder who would win in a battle of crappy acting, Hayden Christensen or Tom Welling? Hmm...

Secondly, Round the Twist is out on DVD? Why did nobody inform me of this most awesome fact sooner? Like, before I spent all my money on Stargate DVDs and historial novel porn? You people fail at the internets, yo.

Thirdly, speaking of Stargate, how much did they steal the plot of SG:A from the Vision of Escaflowne? I hope the Wraith steal Jinto and turn him into a vain, gender-confused pyromaniac who develops a weird psuedo-sexual obsession with... I dunno, Pointy? Smalls? Jinto is actually the only name I remember, except for Steve and Bob. Still, I hope something bad happens to Jinto, just so I can laugh at Beard's anguish at the loss of his precious son.

My predictions for future plotlines: Either Skeletor or Busty McMidriff develop psychic powers. Scottish Doctor gets his arm bitten off and replaced by a metal claw and becomes evil, only not really, and also has lesbian catgirls. Pointy grows wings and pilots a giant robot! Sir Issaac Newton is the King of the Wraith! Smalls and Fluffy-Haired Doctor totally get it on already! More stuff! Giant robots! Flying galleons! Floating fortres- oh, wait, already had that one... More stuff! Noses you could ski down! Machines that control fate! Freaky experiments with blood cultures- oh wait, had that one too...

And a soundtrack by Yoko Kanno. Because I have a need for Yoko Kanno that Wolf's Rain and Escaflowne are failing to satisfy.

And did I mention, Smalls and Fluffy-Haired Doctor so need to get it on?

I'm never going on rabbit.org again. Last night, Anne-Marie and I were eating my (delicious) curry and discussing the amazingness of Colin Farrell when, halfway through a sentance I look over at Thlayli to find him lying on his side, motionless, and for a brief moment convince myself he's gone into stasis and is dying. I rush to his side, panic filling me like some off-colour joke involving ass-sex... and he wakes up, gives me the filthiest look in the history of human-rabbit interaction, and hops into his wooden lodge to continue dreaming his bunny dreams. This leads me to the conclusion that I would make a terrible mother. Not because I'm lazy, selfish, short-tempered and prone to unpredictable mood swings, although all of those are true. Not even because I hate children and think their proper role is the main course in a Sunday roast (mmm-mm, crispy). But because I would be one of those awful parents who talks about their goddamn cuntprize nonstop and thinks it has lukemia every time it sneezes.

In other news, Monday was a day of Strange Coincidences for Froodles. See, back when I was but a young Froodlet, fresh out of highschool and attending my Very First Anime Convention Ever, I met a yaoifiend by the name of Genevieve. Many years passed, I came to university and Southampton seemed an indecently long way to travel just to watch Card Captor Sakura subs. We lost touch.

Fastforward to modern-day. The Froodle sits in Borders, reading The Charioteer (excellent book, recommend to all Mary Renault fans and... pretty much everyone ever, actually) and waiting for a friend to show up. Said friend being something of an idiot, fails to realise the clocks have gone forward and shows up an hour late. We drink coffee, I mock him, he criticises Wolf's Rain, I use the phrase "Bondage Wolf" in public, the usual. Time marches on, and soon we go our seperate ways. I'm walking home, debating whether to grab a sandwich to eat later or simply order takeout, when I see a strangely familar figure coming towards me.

Yeah, it's Genevieve. Turns out her job relocated up here about a month ago. We went for coffee and then she cooked me dinner and we watched Get Backers and I designed a silly character on City of Heroes (she wouldn't let me call him Sneaky McGrue, though apparently Hooded Laser is acceptable). How weird and cool is that?

Now, I think I'm going to go and watch Firefly and try and figure out how Simon manages to be so adorable while at the same time being the lovechild of Lindsey and Early!Wesley. Initial suspicions point to his waistcoats emitting some kind of "ravish me please" vibe. To quote Kaylee, "You just wanna take a bite of him all over."

I swear, Wolf's Rain gets weirder every time I watch it. "We never should have trusted that owl!" Bondage Wolf is seriously getting on my tits. The only thing he's good for is rescuing Shiny. Was getting quite annoyed during episode 6 where Bondage and Spiky stand around posturing, while poor Fluffy is being kidnapped. Yeah, Bondage, it's really cool that you're so TUFF and leather-clad, but your little spat isn't rescuing Fluffy anytime soon.

I love Fluffy.

Also, I think someone needs to find me Tsume/Toboe porn.

La!

Had absolutely massive anime haul arrive today - spent all day lying on the sofa watching Gravitation (how much is Yuki just Sanzo from Saiyuki with a haircut and wearing trousers?); Wolf's Rain (and yes, "Stray" is just as bad as I remember it, and Bondage Wolf is still as stupidly dressed); and Gungrave (they killed Spike! Also, Brandon speaks!), not to mention brand spanking new Witch Hunter Robin (Fluffy broke his leg, oh no!) and Saiyuki (I want Homura's little Godbabies).

The English dub of Wolf's Rain weirds me out, mostly because of the cast of the four main characters: Bondage Wolf is played by Crispin Freeman (Alucard from Hellsing, Zelgadis from Slayers, Amon from Witch Hunter Robin and Touga from Utena, among other things); Main Wolf is played by Johnny Young Bosch (Vash from Trigun, Fluffy from Witch Hunter Robin); Shiny is played by Mona Marshall (Izzy from Digimon, weird little kid Vash meets on the sandsteamer from Trigun) and Fluffy is played by the guy who did the voice for Tai in Digimon and angry vengance kid (TM) that Kenshin and Saitou meet in Kenshin (you know, the one that Saitou sends to live with his wife).

Stray, the opening theme, is as I've said, awful. Imagine Brian Adams singing a song in English written by a Japanese person. That level of badness. Have had it stuck in my head all day.

Gravitation is great, but only has three episodes on the DVD, which annoys me. There's nobody I recognise on the voice cast, which is a welcome change, although personally I think Yuki's voice is too deep. Then again, I was kind of hoping David Matranga would be cast. Casted. Castified. Whatever. Hatre is still cool. Ryuuichi still makes me laugh. Can't wait for the introduction of Yuki's crazy stalker-tastic brother.

Gungrave is fairly spiffy, if you can get past the first episode, which basically plays like twenty minutes lifted straight from the game. I'm still upset about Spike being killed. I really love the characterisation on Harry, though to be honest, I find Brandon's taciturn act slightly annoying - there's nothing wrong with being quiet, but the guy bloody well mimes in some scenes!

Witch Hunter Robin just gets better and better - loved the scene with the infiltration of the STNJ (Poor Fluffy! Did I mention he broke his leg?) and how Miho is trying to pick up the slack since Amon has gone AWOL. Micheal's still great, despite mullet-licious tendancies. The Chief, aka Hitler, gets some much-needed character development this time around, helping the Hunters piece together what's happened to Robin and Amon, instead of just bitching about them. Doujima still annoys me, though.

Also, we get to meet a new character, Nagira, who looks to be very, very interesting - a mysteeeeerrrious connection to Amon's past, and outspoken opposition of the STNJ's treatment of witches and seeds. I hope he doesn't die.

Saiyuki pretty much continues as it alwaus has - Hakkai still annoys me, Homura still rocks my world - I love Jason Douglas - Sanzo is still grumpy (in a cool way) and Kougaji is still useless. Poor Kougaji.
